By looking at the way that this sticker is an effective advertisement, we can see that the sticker relies on the notion that a viewer will see that the phrase “I like to read” implies books (and literature) and link this with intellectual and social superiority; this reveals the ideology—insofar as it is defined by Louis Althusser as representing “the imaginary relationship of individuals to their real conditions of existence”—in which the English department asserts its validity.

We'll see how it goes...
